If you just watched the above trailer, you’re probably experiencing either of the following reactions; A. you’re uncomfortable, squirming in your seat- possibly slightly disgusted and asking WTF or B: you recognize how insanely funny Humpday is going to be. Think of Humpday as “bromance gone wild”.
Director Lynn Shelton’s hysterical assault on “bromance” has alot of people talking and they are all saying good things. It was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and won the Special Jury Prize.
Finally, there is something worth watching in theaters that really pushes the envelope on our traditional definitions of friendships and relationships! Starring Joshua Leonard of the Blair Witch Project (welcome back) and Mark Duplass (see The Puffy Chair), these two superb actors make the movie believable by never coming of as stereotypical sexually repressed guys fumbling in the dark. These are just two straight guys who decide to have sex for the sake of art. It’s another side of bromance that you rarely get to see. After you get over your initial shock and discomfort (particularly if a little man on man action makes you uncomfortable) I predict you’ll be doubled over in laughter.
I’m looking forward to taking my most repressed friends to the theater this Friday and watching their reactions! Of course, I will make sure that I’m the one who is driving. Check out Humpday in select theaters 07/10/09.

It‘s quite in here! Why not leave a response?
