I Love You Philip Morris

I Love You Philip Morris

When I initially saw the poster for I Love You Philip Morris, I erroneously thought the film had to do with the cigarette manufacturing company, my initial thought was “another Thank You For Smoking? It was good and all but no thanks”. Boy was I wrong, I Love You Philip Morris is without a doubt going to be one of the funniest and breakthrough comedies of this year. What makes the story even more endearing is that it is based on a true story.

I Love You Philip Morris which was directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, stars Jim Carrey, Leslie Mann, Ewan McGregor and Rodrigo Santoro. I don’t want to give too much away just watch the trailer. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait till early next year to see it.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga

Here’s to two deserving musicians who have strutted and penned their names into the annals of musical history. Billboard Magazine just revealed that Beyoncé is certain to win this year’s Billboard Woman of The Year Award and that pop’s new wunderkind Lady Gaga is to be named as the Rising Star at the Billboard Award Ceremony which takes place on Oct. 2nd.

Beyonce

Both of them are deserving of these accolades in their own right. I believe that Lady Gaga, deserves further mention for not only storming the world of pop with her debut album The Fame which has spawned four Billboard Hot 100 hit singles like “Just Dance” and “Poker Face” but for writing it herself. Furthermore, The Fame is also the best-selling album from a debut artist this year and has sold over 1,441,000 copies. Here’s to you lovely ladies, strut on!

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey

I was actually really looking forward to reviewing Mariah Carey’s new album but alas it wasn’t meant to be, this album has been pushed back so many times that if it doesn’t induce a musical orgasm within five seconds I’m demanding a public apology. Truth be told, I find the one single Obsessed a tad annoying already. Personally, I’ ve always thought that Mariah has an incredible voice (especially in the studio, seeing her perform is an entirely different story- proficient is the best way to describe it) but I have to admit that I’m beginning to think her music as somewhat redundant.

Mariah, if you’re reading this, its no insult, its only slightly your fault and more the general public, all I have to say is I hope you really unleashed everything on this album otherwise get in contact with Madge’s image consultants pronto! Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel is allegedly available 09/29/09.

If life were a game of chess, I would hate to have Madonna as an opponent because the woman is without a doubt one of the most shrewd and strategic entertainers out there. When you talk about about reinvention and keeping up with the times, there are very few artists out there who can keep [...]

The late great lead singer of Alice In Chains, Layne Staley must be proud! Black Gives Way To Blue, the new album which features Jerry Cantrell - guitars/vocals, Sean Kinney - drums, Mike Inez - bass and William DuVall - guitars/vocal is simply sick!Let me repeat myself, it’s ridiculous, the boys just proved unequivocally that [...]

I feel like a romantic Grinch today, so reviewing a collection of love ballads from Barbara Streisand is not exactly something that I’m relishing - now that I’ve got some of the bile of my heart, here we go. What can I say about the  highly revered  and beloved jazz goddess, Barbara Streisand?
She’s good- its [...]

Humor me, usually not one for “cute” but I just had to post this- this baby has  a possible future in the entertainment industry as a backup dancer or choreographer. Either that or he’s just fascinated with all that hotness!
