Milla Jovovich

Is it just me or has Milla Jovovich just been typecasted and relegated to the realm of mostly  B-movie action flicks? I guess she really doesn’t mind because she still manages to rake in over $6 million annually in such roles so the joke’s  on us. Mindless though they may be, I have to admit that I love a good, gory thriller on occasion and A Perfect Getaway might be just what the doctor ordered.

Directed by David Twohy, A Perfect Getaway follows the misadventures of a young couple as they make their through a breathtaking and largely uninhabited island in Hawaii. However, they encounter trouble in paradise when they come into contact with a group of strangers who inform them of the grisly murder of a recently married couple. What ensues is a spiral into distrust, chaos and a mad scramble for survival as they struggle to escape their worst nightmare. As always, you are guaranteed a superb performance from Jovovich, who has proven that gore is without a doubt her genre.

Definitely the sort of movie that you wait to get on DVD but if an hour of adrenaline  packed entertainment is what you need then certainly go see A Perfect Getaway. Starring Steve Zahn, Timmy Olyphant, Milla Jovoich, Marley Shelton and Kiele Sanchez, A Perfect Getaway opens everywhere on August 4th.
