Less than 3 weeks before his highly anticipated sold out concert, we just received information via Twitter that the Prince of Pop, Michael Jackson has allegedly suffered a heart attack and been rushed to The UCLA Medical Center. There have been rumors for quite some time about Jackson’s poor health- specifically Alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency, emphysema, internal bleeding and a loss of 95 percent of the vision in his left eye. In a statement last December, Jackson’s representatives said “…allegations concerning Mr. Jackson’s health are a total fabrication,”… “Mr. Jackson is in fine health”
We have received definite information from a trusted source at UCLA that he was indeed taken to the hospital and members of his family have been alerted. Upon arrival, firefighters found Mr. Jackson unresponsive and not breathing.
The mere fact that the entire family has been contacted is definitely a source for concern.

We have confirmed reports that Michael Jackson has unfortunately passed away.
This happened so fast! Chez lala is right by UCLA and you could hear the helicopters going crazy! Strange how celebrities always die in threes, though I keep hearing he may just be in a coma.
I grew up thru the whole MJ craze - even taught my sister how to “moon walk” when we were in grade school. This guy has lived the entire arc of stardom, from nothing to global celebrity to utterly ridiculed. He was an amazing performer! I don’t wish death on anyone, but it’s hard to have any sympathy for a man who largely wasted his wealth & talent satisfying his own lust and misguided desires. Rest in peace - I hope your memory disappears quickly from our society and serves only as a warning on the lonely road to stardom. -Paige

I was never coordinated enough to learn how to moonwalk. It’s been a bizarre 48 hours, first Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and then Michael Jackson. I understand what you mean though about MJ, towards the end he had just turned into a caricature of the person he used to be.
Lalawag is heading out there as we speak to get an inside look at the happenings around UCLA Medical Center. It feels like the end of an era–two major icons in one day. You can hear the choppers overhead. It’s so sad.
