A Serious Man

A Serious Man

The Coen Brothers (Burn After Reading, Fargo) are at it again and this time their latest dramedy shares the story of an ordinary man’s search for clarity in a universe where Jefferson Airplane is on the radio and “F-Troop” is on TV. It is 1967, and Larry  a physics professor at a quiet Midwestern university, has just been informed by his wife  that she is leaving him for one of his colleagues. Furthermore, his life as he knows it continues to unravel further with the antics of his brother and daughter.  Struggling for equilibrium, Larry seeks advice from three different rabbis. The question remains as to whether anyone help him cope with his afflictions?

Typical complex Coen Brothers fare, starring Michael Stuhlbarg, Fred Melamed, Richard Kind, Aaron Wolf, Sari Wagner, Jessica McManus and Adam Arkin, A Serious Man opens in select theaters 10/02/09.
