Inglourios Basterds

Inglourios Basterds

I tend to base the success of my summers on parties, romps, music and movies and thus far I have to admit that its been a rather mediocre summer; particularly in regards to movies. All that seems to be changing now following District 9s success and the upcoming release of Quentin Tarantino’s World War II epic: Inglourious Basterds.

Set in Nazi-occupied France, Inglourious Basterds tells the story of Jewish freedom fighters intent on killing “as many Nazis as possible”. Led by Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt), the ragtag band of vigilantes proceed in typical Tarantinoesque fashion to decimate the ranks of the Third Reich, culminating in a stand off involving Hitler, Goebbels and Goering. Imagine a Western, war epic and  ‘Allo, ‘Allo mash up and you have Inglourious Basterds. The cast is stellar and one particular performance worthy of further attention is that of Christoph Waltz

If you don’t mind lengthy movies (I certainly don’t) and sub titles then get set for one of the summer’s most entertaining movies. Starring Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, Mike Myers, Michael Fassbenderr, Diane Kruger, Daniel Bruhl, Til Schweiger, Melanie Laurent, B.J. Novak and Samm Levine, Inglourious Basterds opens nationwide August 21st. Courtesy of FirstShowing.net and ScreenCrave.com, here are a few noteworthy interviews from Michael Fassbender, B.J. Novak, Eli Roth, and Melanie Laurent

P.S. The soundtrack is as good as the movie!
