After yesterday’s raid of his Houston Office, Dr. Conrad Murray must be ruing the day he decided to take Michael Jackson on as a client. Depending on the coroner’s report (which btw, is leaning more and more towards saying OVERDOSE), Murray might face manslaughter charges in the death of the King of Pop.
Let’s examine the evidence. We know for certain that the authorities and the family are inclined towards allotting the blame to overzealous prescription abuse. Thus far, DEA spokeswoman Violet Szeleczky has stated that the intent of the raid was primarily focused on records, not drugs.
If you are asking yourself if Murray is culpable for the death of Michael Jackson, the answer is possibly. In order for the prosecutors to prove a charge of manslaughter, there has to be evidence of reckless behavior resulting in a higher risk of death or injury. As such, Murray, to an extent remains liable even though he was following his client’s requests. Furthermore, even though Michael was complicit, Murray should have used his discretion.
What I don’t understand is why Murray- a registered cardiologist, took so long in alerting the authorities when he found his patient unconscious? Anyone who has ever done drugs before realizes that there is a trend here!
It’s possible that Murray was aware of the repercussions of contacting the authorities after Propofol had been administered- it was a Catch 22. What if he called the medics immediately and they had saved Michael’s life but evidence of his prescription abuse had come to light? That would have surely meant the loss of what was probably the best gig in his life. In the end, even if Murray is proven innocent of all charges, his actions or in-actions are certain to haunt him for a considerable amount of time.

It‘s quite in here! Why not leave a response?
