Collective Soul can boast Seven #1 Rock Hits, 4 Platinum Plus albums, 10 million total albums sold and features in The Hills, Woman’s Murder Club, Shark, Celebrity Apprentice, Brothers and Sisters, 90210 and most recently Twilight. Since their formation in the 90’s, this Georgia based quintet comprised of Ed Roland (lead vocals/keyboards/guitars), guitarists Dean Roland, Joel Kosche; Will Turpin (bass/percussion) and Shane Evans (drums/percussion) have been making music that you probably wouldn’t know of if you weren’t glued to your TV set.
The boys are back with Rabbit- an album that was recorded in 45 days and is credited as their most mainstream album yet. To tell the truth, that last bit of information induced eye rolling and almost prevented this review from being conducted. If you’re like me, almost anything to do with The Hills is cringe worthy. However, after listening to Rabbit, I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. This alternative rock album features deft musicianship, interesting lyrics and riffs that should channel your angst adequately. I’ll admit that it’s not the sort of album that has me giddy but few things have that effect any longer- though Dig, You and Hymn For My Father made me perk up my ears.
If you’re a fan of Live, Bush and Candlebox then you’ll certainly dig Collective Soul. Rabbit is available August 25th.

It‘s quite in here! Why not leave a response?
