Not that it was surprising- everybody knew that he pulled an Ike Turner on his superstar girlfriend Rihanna but Chris “man- handler” Brown finally plead guilty to one count of assault. However, I believe that the whole legal proceedings were nothing other than a glorified farce. Brown, after the significant damage he inflicted upon the poor but in my opinion silly girl received only and I repeat only five years’ probation and  six months of mandatorycommunity service and domestic abuse courses.

Now, though I am no expert on the legal system something appears severely amiss- if any ordinary citizen had inflicted as much physical harm upon another individual I sincerely doubt that they would be relegated to cleaning up grafitti and picking up trash. I don’t care if Brown had access to the best legal team in the world- the verdict was preposterous. What’s even worse is that Rihanna was quoted as saying that she believed the sentence to be “fair”. If this isn’t an example of battered wife syndrome, then I am a certainly an ignoramus.

Truth be told, the verdict means very little to me but the next time I consider manhandling a lover, I will be damned if I am not offered a similar sentencing!
